NCEI is committed to making data findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (based on the FAIR Data Principles). The newest effort toward this goal is the ongoing development of the Collection Metadata Editing Tool (CoMET). This workshop will provide an introduction to using the CoMET ISO metadata editor and highlight recent changes to the tool. Attendees will leave with a basic understanding of how CoMET works with other NOAA metadata tools, the benefits of using CoMET to publish records through the OneStop portal, how to assess the stewardship quality of their datasets using the Data Stewardship Maturity Questionnaire (DSMQ), and how to create, edit, and import metadata records.
